Originally trained as a clinical psychologist in India, Dr. Mamata Pandey completed her second Masters and PhD in Experimental and Applied Psychology from University of Regina in 2014. She received the prestigious NSERC doctoral scholarship award for her PhD. She has carried out research on a variety of topics like intellectual disability, child friendly schools, immigrant health, attention, emotional intelligence and decision making bias, surgical site infections and Indigenous health. Having lived and worked in three different countries (India, Switzerland and Canada), she has knowledge about healthcare systems and services available in countries around the world. She is interested in employing innovative research techniques to identify evidence-based strategies that can improve the quality of care patients receive in Regina Qu’Appelle Health Region. She has a daughter and son. In her spare time she engages in many community activities; and enjoys travelling, photography and music.
