Description

RIWC Regina Immigrant Women Centre is a non-profit organization that provides programming and services for the education, integration, enrichment and empowerment of Newcomer, Refugee and Immigrant Women and their families.
We are hiring a full-time Human Resources Assistant. The HR Assistant will provide timely support to the Resources Coordinator and to the entire HR team by assisting employees with their queries, preparing or amending HR documents as necessary, and assisting the HR team with various projects. The ideal candidate must be an organized, strong communicator, with general knowledge of Microsoft Office programs and previous Human Resources experience.

DUTIES

Answering questions from employees on any HR related queries
Tracking employees working hours and their use of vacation and sick days
Entering data into HR databases
Maintaining employee files and records while keeping HR information confidential
Assisting with payroll and employee benefits
Assisting in developing and updating job descriptions and specifications.
Posting positions and overseeing updates on recruitment websites and other media.
Notifying employees about upcoming classes or deadlines to renew licenses or certifications
Handling termination-related matters
Staying current on the organizations structure, personnel policy, and laws regarding employment practices.
Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

A Human Resources diploma or higher
2 years of experience as a HR Assistant
Competency with Microsoft Office applications
Thorough knowledge of employment laws
