RIWC Regina Immigrant Women Centre is a non-profit organization which provides programming and services for the education, integration, enrichment and empowerment of Newcomer, Refugee and Immigrant Women and their families. The Family Support Social Worker provides client-centered and gender-based interventions, support services, information workshops and community referrals for vulnerable Immigrant and Newcomer women and their families.  
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor of Social Work and minimum 2 years experience working with culturally diverse newcomer populations
Flexibility to work non-traditional hours such as evenings and weekends
Valid drivers license and access to a reliable vehicle
Vulnerable Sector clear criminal record check
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage a caseload of clients using a culturally affirming case-management approach
Develop strength-based action plans with the clients
Provide one-on-one or group educational and life-skills workshops
Engage the clients in essential problem-solving techniques to strengthen their independent and informed decision-making skills
Create partnerships which assist with clients engagement with formal and informal networks
Document and maintain accurate and confidential case notes and program reports
ABILITIES
Develop, assess and consider options for addressing urgent client situations
Apply a trauma-informed, strength-based case management model
Advocate on behalf of clients to ensure access to services and resources
Organize, present and record information in a clear, concise, complete, accurate, appropriate and timely manner
Balance diverse and conflicting workload pressures in a timely manner
Ability to work independently, interdependently, and participate as a contributing member on a variety of teams.
